Feel your own body, test its possibilities, perform movements together and work out creatively: Our dance therapist BTD and pedagogue Bettina Thiel and our dance pedagogue Stefan Witzel invite children and young people between 5 and 17 years with the clinical picture of cerebral palsy to participate in a four-day holiday course together with their parents during the autumn vacations.
You can dance standing up, but you can also dance sitting down. You can dance with your eyes, with your fingers, with the corners of your mouth, alone or in pairs, as your body allows. Every child who is able to express his or her feelings in any way is in the right place in the course, regardless of motor or cognitive limitations.
The goal of the course is to provide the children with new experiences and to be an experience for both child and parent, where everyday life is excluded through creative work and the parent-child bond is strengthened. The children can just as easily be accompanied by a trusted sibling, aunt, uncle or grandparent. The prerequisite, however, is that the child is accompanied by the same trusted person on each day of the course, who actively participates.
The holiday course will take place from October 27th to 30th, from 4 pm to 6 pm each day, in the studio of the Staatsballett Berlin at the Deutsche Oper Berlin (Charlottenburg) and costs 40 euros per child (accompanying person free).
