Art meets stage

Pupils redesign gala programme

As part of a school project, Year 10 pupils from the Melanchthon-Gymnasium in Hellersdorf reimagined the programme for our 20 Years of Staatsballett Berlin gala – with imaginative costume designs and creative ideas of their own.

Taking inspiration from literary characters such as Madame Bovary, the pupils spent an entire school term developing their own drawings, clay models and research pages. The Triadic Ballet also played a key role: with plenty of imagination, the pupils translated its historic costumes into movement and form.

The results show just how vibrant and diverse arts education can be. We’re delighted to share their work here – and extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved!
