Leroy Mokgatle honoured
Congratulations to Leroy Mokgatle on receiving the award for Best Dance Performer at this year’s German Theatre Prize, DER FAUST.
Leroy Mokgatle is deeply moved and expressed their gratitude for the honour: «Receiving the FAUST is a great honour, and I am very grateful that my performance is so highly appreciated. Being able to dance this role and many others, and to continue developing as an artist, is a dream come true.»
Leroy Mokgatle has been part of the Staatsballett Berlin ensemble since the 2023/24 season, performing a wide repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary works – from Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty to choreography by William Forsythe and pieces by Marcos Morau.
The German Theatre Prize DER FAUST is an award by theatre-makers for theatre-makers. Since 2006, it has been presented in various categories by the German Theatre Association, together with the German Academy of the Performing Arts and the Cultural Foundation of the German States.
