Sharon Eyal

Sharon Eyal danced with the Batsheva Dance Company from 1990 to 2008, serving as Associate Artistic Director from 2003 to 2004 and as Choreographer from 2005 to 2012. In 2005, her partnership with Gai Behar began, who has since collaborated on her creations. In 2013, they founded their own dance company (Sharon Eyal Dance Company), whose repertoire is produced in collaboration with some of the world's leading dance festivals. Additionally, Eyal and Behar create works for other ensembles, including Nederlands Dans Theater, Opéra national de Paris, and GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. Their creations received several prestigious awards such as the German Theater Prize DER FAUST (2018) and the prestigious FEDORA VAN CLEEF & ARPELS Prize for Ballet 2017.

They worked on various fashion shows with Christian Dior Couture and Maria Grazia Chiuri, developed projects with the music label Young. Sharon Eyal made her Berlin debut in 2018 with the piece Half Life, followed by the world premiere of her work STRONG in 2019 and 2 Chapters Love in 2023 for the Staatsballett Berlin. SAABA is the fourth work they have created with the ensemble of the Staatsballett Berlin.

In 2023, Sharon Eyal was honored with the «Ordre des Arts et des Lettres» of the French Republic.
