Navasard Hakobyan

Armenian baritone Navasard Hakobyan is the recipient of numerous major awards, including the 2024 Laffont Competition at the Metropolitan Opera, the 2024 Dallas Opera National Vocal Competition, and the Don Plácido Domingo Ferrer Prize for Zarzuela at the Operalia World Opera Competition 2023. During the 2024/25 season, he was a member of the Houston Grand Opera Young Artists Studio, where he appeared, among other roles, as Schaunard (La Bohème) and Wolfram von Eschenbach (Tannhäuser). He also made important role debuts as Sharpless (Madama Butterfly) at Houston Grand Opera and as Grégorio (Roméo et Juliette) at Dallas Opera. He made his house debut at the Semperoper Dresden as Marcello (La Bohème). Beginning with the 2025/26 season, he joins the ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin as a Talent Circle scholarship recipient, appearing, among other roles, as Moralès (Carmen), Monsieur de Siriex (Fedora), and Fiorillo (Il barbiere di Siviglia).
