Jenny Mahr

Jenny Mahr began her classical ballet training in 1987 at the Berlin Dance Academy under the direction of Tatjana Gsovsky. She later expanded her training to include jazz and modern dance with Manuel Mandon and went on to work as a freelance dancer and dance instructor from 1999 to 2009. Between 2003 and 2005, she toured Germany and Austria as a musical performer in Tabaluga und das verschenkte Glück and Falco meets Amadeus.
Alongside her artistic career, she studied law at Freie Universität Berlin from 2000 to 2009. Starting in 2006, she worked at the Institute for Sociology of Law and Empirical Legal Research, including as a research associate on the project «The Reality of Discrimination in Germany – Assumptions and Facts.» From 2010 to 2012, she completed her legal traineeship in the district of the Berlin Court of Appeal, with placements at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, the Eventlawyers law firm, and in Tel Aviv.
After passing her second state examination, she practiced as an attorney specializing in copyright and media law from 2012 to 2014, before becoming personal assistant to the Managing Director of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in 2013.
Since 2019, she has served as Managing Director of the Staatsballett Berlin.
