Dana Genshaft

Dana Genshaft is a San Francisco–based artistic director of SFDanceworks, choreographer and educator, and a former principal dancer with San Francisco Ballet (2000–2015). Her repertoire ranged from classical works by Petipa and Balanchine to creations by leading contemporary choreographers such as Yuri Possokhov, Christopher Wheeldon, William Forsythe, Wayne McGregor, Mark Morris and Alexei Ratmansky.
Since 2015 she has been teaching at the San Francisco Ballet School. Genshaft has created works for the New York Choreographic Institute, American Ballet Theatre Studio Company, The Washington Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet and BalletMet, as well as several pieces for the San Francisco Ballet Trainees. She has served as Artistic Director of SFDanceworks since 2021 and received the Princess Grace Award for Choreography in 2018.
