Ben Meerwein

Profile

Ben Meerwein is a composer and sound designer based in Berlin. He studied composition and electroacoustic music in Leipzig and Vienna. His work often explores performative approaches, spatiality, and narrative forms, moving stylistically between experimental electronics, classical music, noise, and avant-pop.

Through numerous collaborations, he has gained experience across a wide range of disciplines, creating music and sound design for film, theater, installations, performances, and concerts, as well as developing his own performances and musical projects—some of which have received awards. Together with Alex Röser Vatiché, he composed the music and sound design for Marcos Morau’s Notte Morricone.

His works have been presented at the Romaeuropa Festival, Festspielhaus St. Pölten, ZKM Karlsruhe, Théâtre d’Orléans, Schwere Reiter in Munich, Iklectik in London, Feÿ Arts Festival in Paris, and the Ruhrfestspiele, among others.
