Artur Garbas

Born in Poland, Artur Garbas studied at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden, where he also took part successfully in several singing competitions. In 2019 he was awarded a scholarship from the Walter and Charlotte Hamel Foundation in Hanover.
In the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons, Artur Garbas was initially a Walter Sandvoss Scholarship holder of the Friends’ Association of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, before joining the company’s ensemble in the 2024/25 season. At the Deutsche Oper Berlin he has already appeared on stage as Masetto (Don Giovanni), Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Papageno (Die Zauberflöte), and Dr Albert Felgentreu (Oceane).
In 2018 he was awarded a Deutschlandstipendium by the Dresden University of Music. This was followed by his first engagements, including appearances at Leipzig Opera, the Kleines Schauspielhaus Dresden, and the Národní divadlo (National Theatre) in Prague. In the 2025/26 season he can be heard, among other roles, as Haly (L’italiana in Algeri), Kiril (Fedora), and Tsar Peter (Zar und Zimmermann).
