Alexander Boldachev
Alexander Boldachev is among the world’s most sought-after harpists and is redefining the role of his instrument in both classical and contemporary music on a global scale. His performances take him around the world, from Carnegie Hall in New York and the Salle Gaveau in Paris to major venues across Asia and the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup. As a soloist, composer and arranger, he effortlessly bridges classical music with rock, film and video-game music, continually pushing the boundaries of what the harp can do. Beyond the concert stage, Boldachev is the founder of World Harp Day and the Zurich Harp Festival, and serves as guest professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Milan Conservatory, and UCLA. His catalogue of arrangements includes more than 300 works, ranging from virtuosic transcriptions of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to Tchaikovsky’s ballet music. Outside the concert hall, Boldachev collaborates with the fashion world, including iconic brands such as Fornasetti, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana and Jacob Cohen. He is currently engaged with, among others, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Gunma Symphony Orchestra of Japan, and national orchestras in Mexico, Turkey and Argentina. His artistic innovations also include collaborations in film, digital media art and theatre.
