Profile

Pianist Xiaoqiong Luptak Huang, originally from Shanghai, began playing the piano at the age of four. During her school years, she won numerous awards in piano competitions, including the «Nikko Piano Competition for Young Pianists» in 1996 in China and the «Scarlatti Competition» in 2005 at the Middle School of the Shanghai Conservatory.

Before starting her studies in Germany in 2009, she initially spent two years at the Shanghai Conservatory under the guidance of Jianzhong Wang. In October 2009, Xiaoqiong Huang moved to Hamburg and studied in the class of Prof. Marian Migdal at the University of Music and Theater Hamburg, where she completed her bachelor's degree in the summer of 2012 with outstanding grades. Since then, she has continued her studies in the master's program with Prof. Marian Migdal.

Additionally, the pianist has been awarded scholarships from the German Academic Exchange Service, performed numerous concerts in Germany, and participated in recordings for Norddeutscher Rundfunk. In April 2014, she recorded a solo CD featuring rarely performed works such as Edward Grieg's Suite from From Holberg's Time and Franz Liszt's Harmonies poétiques et religieuses along with some miniatures from his late work.

In 2014, Xiaoqiong Huang worked as a répétiteur for the bassoon class under Prof. Christian Kunert at the University and completed her master's degree at the University of Music and Theater Hamburg a year later. Not only does Xiaoqiong Huang enrich her experience with chamber music performances alongside other musicians and singers throughout Germany, but she also presents solo concerts.

Since 2017, she has been working as a répétiteur at the Staatsballett Berlin.
