George Balanchine still is one of the most renowned neo-classical choreographers. When he decided to build his own American ballet company during the 1930s he knew he had to build a ballet school first, known as the “School of American Ballet”. In this school he was able to teach his own technique as an enrichment to the classical ballet technique.

“Dancing Balanchine” - a course of workshops, in which young and adult amateur dancers may get to know the specific style of George Balanchine. On the basis of this style the former soloist of the Staatsballett Berlin, Stephanie Greenwald, who was educated at the “School of American Ballet” herself gives a training over several weeks. In course of the upcoming premiere of Balanchine|Forsythe|Siegal at the Staatsballett Berlin on May 4th 2019 the participants may likely get to visit a rehearsal.

From March 24th, every Sunday from 10.30 to 12.00 am (nine workshops, not on April 7th and April 21st), from 16 years on, previous knowledge in classical ballet is mandatory.
