Since 2008, Tanz ist KLASSE! has been offering young adults a place in culture as part of the Voluntary Year of Social Service. For all those who do not want to start studying or training right after school, there is the exciting chance of a year of practical cultural work. Young people between the ages of 16 and 26 have the welcome opportunity to learn more about methods of cultural work and their personal skills, to orientate themselves professionally and to try them out. In clubs and theatres, museums and art schools, in cultural centres and initiatives, they support the work of their volunteers full-time and bring a lot of energy, motivation and new ideas. The volunteers receive 360 € pocket money per month, are socially insured and, if applicable, entitled to child benefits, have 26 days of vacation and participate in 25 days of education.

From now on until March 14th 2021 young people can register their interest via the nationwide portal: https://freiwilligendienste-kultur-bildung.de/.

Further information can be found at http://lkj-berlin.de/fsjkultur.

The State Association for Cultural Youth Education Berlin e.V. (LKJ) is the sponsor of the FSJ Kultur - since 2001 in Berlin and since 2003 in Brandenburg. This benefits young people as well as the theatres in Berlin and Brandenburg, youth cultural centres, art schools, museums and associations, who experience new impulses and a fresh breeze through the volunteers. The LKJ accompanies the young people and the cultural institutions through the year of volunteering. It organises and implements the legally required educational seminars and ensures quality, exchange and networking.
