Alina Pronina


Alina Pronina, born in Kiev (Ukraine), took her first piano lessons at the age of five. During her apprenticeship at the Music School of Kiev, she participated in various concerts and was award winner of municipal and national contests. From 1997 to 2000 she studied at R. Gliére Kiev Institute of Music and took many master classes (e.g. from D. Joffe, N. Fischer, B. Goetzke, L. Berman). After five years of studying with Prof. Galia Iwanzowa at the University of Music “Hanns Eisler” Berlin, she received her diploma in 2006 and the graduate recital in 2008.

1995 she was awarded the 3rdprize and a diploma at the International Piano Competition “Tradition and Present” in St. Petersburg; 1997 Pronina won the “Vox Populi” prize at the Horowitz-Competition in Kiev and 1999 the 2ndprize at the International Piano Competition “Art of the 21stCentury” in Worsel, Ukraine. She was the winner of the 3rdprize at the renamed International Competition for Young Pianists in Ettlingen, Germany in 2002. Also, as a part of the trio “Some Handsome Hands” she mastered to win the 1stprize at the International Competition for Multiple-Handed Piano Playing in Marktoberdorf.     
Since 2006 she is one of the scholars of “Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V.”. Pronina was awarded the Steinway-Advancement-Award for Music Universities of Berlin in 2007.     
Since 2009/2010 Alina Pronina is a pianist at the Staatsballett Berlin.

Solo and chamber music performances lead her to Germany, Austria, Italy, Israel, China, the UAE and Swiss.
