A Swedish double bill awaits at the first premiere of our 22/23 season. In 1982, Mats Ek launched a new era of stage dance with his radically new interpretation of the ballet classic GISELLE with the Cullberg Ballet. Alexander Ekman also takes a meta approach when critically examining the the world of dance with his creations.

With EK/EKMAN, the two choreographers will now be united on stage at the Deutsche Oper Berlin from February 16. The double bill comprises A SORT OF... by Mats Ek featuring music by Henryk M. Górecki as well as CACTI by Alexander Ekman with music by Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven and Franz Schubert.
