Ballet for Future? – A Staatsballett Berlin podcast

The Staatsballett Berlin published the first episode of BALLET FOR FUTURE? today, a companion podcast to the eponymous five-part event series. As in the round table discussions, different topics concerning the institution of ballet, its values and structures will be discussed controversially.

The first episode puts the ballet repertoire to the test. What may, what can, what should a ballet company perform nowadays? Are the works of the classical ballet repertoire still contemporary? What exactly are the critical contents and how can they be dealt with? The so-called three C's: ›Cancel Culture‹, ›Censorship‹ und ›Contextualization‹  are up for debate.
